In October 2019, we, along with two other friends' couple were planning for a
holiday, and we were bit confused, where to go – Sikkim or North Bengal. Then
after a lot of deliberation, we decided to visit Dooars and take a Dooars Tour Package from Siliguri/NJP in Dec 2019. One of our friends suggested

Dooars Tour Itinerary
Day
1 – Reach Sealdah Station at
around 7.30 pm Caught Kanchankanya Express at 8.30 pm.
Day
2 – Day two morning around
11.45, we reached the Hasimara ( HAS) railway station. The car was waiting for us
at the Railway station, and we started our journey for Dooars
Package Tour to Jaldapara.
We
checked in at the Hotel – Hallong Eco Village Resort. It is a beautiful
resort-style property, just beside the forest and sharing the fencing with the
Jaldapara forest.
Post
Lunch, We took Jaldapara Jeep Safari and spotted a few Dears and wild elephants
and got a glimpse of one horn Rhino from the distance.
Day 3 – Woke up early morning, and started the journey by a jeep for the elephant safari.
Jaldapara Elephant safari starts
from the Hallong Bungalow inside the Jungle, and it was the best experience on
the whole trip. Elephant took us very close to Rhinos, where we took a lot of
close shots of Rhino and their babies.
Post
Lunch, at around 1 pm, started for the Chilapata Jungle Safari, and it is
approximately 45 mins journey from Jaldapara to Chilapata Forest ticket
counter. We managed the ticket for 3 pm safari, and the jeep took us to the
deepest corner of the forest, where no sunlight enters during day time.

Day
4 – We started for Lata
Gorumara National Park, after having our breakfast at around 8 am, and it took
approximately 2 hrs to reach from Jaldapara to Lataguri.
We
planned to take the Gorumara Jungle Safari at 3 pm by Maruti open hood jeep,
and we could spot only a few peacocks and wild Bison.
In
Lataguri we stayed in Green Castle Resort, located just 3 minutes' walking
distance from the ticket counter, good forest ambiance with swimming pool facilities.
Day
5 – Post breakfast, we checked
out the hotel and started for following Sightseeings
Jhalong
Bindu
Samsing
Sultanikholi
Rickeyisland
And
finally, car drooped us at the New Mal Junction (NMZ) Railway station for our
return journey

6 – We reached Sealdah Railway
Station at around 9.15 am with sweet and memorable Dooars Trip experience

department in their jeep driven by an expert driver. So there is no option to
book a full day jeep for Jungle safari.

safari in Jaldapara is managed by the staff of the Forest Department on trained
elephants and Mahut (Elephant keeper). They take extra caution during the trip.
So you can consider Elephant safari is safe for the tourists.

What is the procedure to book Elephant Safari in Jaldapara? What Documents are
needed?.
West
Bengal Forest Department is used to operate Jaldapara Elephant Safari. They
provide trained elephants and expert keepers as well as guides. Tickets must be
booked one day before the elephant safari.
Tickets
will be available from the ticket counter in front of Jungle's main gate beside
the Jaldapara Tourist lodge. One needs to stand in queue 2 hrs before the
opening of the ticket counter due to rush during the season.
The
